Tania has been preparing birthing couples since 2013. Unhappy with the support she received during her first birth, her sister encouraged her to take an independent childbirth class. Her second birth was healing and her third birth was empowering. This started her passion for safe, natural when possible, and empowering birth. She has since become trained in Spinning Babies, Rebozo use during labor, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Bengkung belly binding. She has taught over 350 couples and attended ~50 births, either as doula support or as a midwife birth assistant.
She also is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). Because she struggled to breastfeed all 3 of her children and noticed that the majority of her students did also, she decided to go through the journey of becoming an IBCLC. She has firsthand experience with painful latch, tongue ties, and her babies not gaining weight and clinic experience with bottle feeding, pumping, history of breast surgery, inducing lactation, and more! She has had additional training in inducing lactation (Breastfeeding without birthing from Alyssa Schnell, IBCLC), the low milk supply course for healthcare providers (Lactation Hub), the Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad class, bottle refusal (Guiding Bottle Breakthroughs), and breastfeeding with more breast tissue (Beyond the Shape class).
Tania is married to her best friend of 10 years and they have 3 vivacious children together. Two of those children are deaf and the family enjoys learning ASL and signing together.
